Could Your Business Be Suffering From Your Excitement?
Oh my gosh! Have you heard about “XXX!!!” It is SO amazing you HAVE to try it and you MUST join me in this new business!
How many of you have either done this or have heard it before? As our friends and family approach us we may tend to brush it off but when it's someone who is not so close to us, it can have a completely different and potentially a negative impact on us.
Don't worry, if this was you, it's completely natural to be excited about something that's positively impacting your life! The great thing too is that you can totally recoup from any damage it may have caused. 🙂
In all honesty, people are excited and feel that you will be too. Also, often times, many people start new Direct Sales or MLM careers and that company offers little training or no training at all. What they will hear is “talk to anyone and everyone that will listen.” But how? That's the million dollar question.
How can you successfully approach your potential customer?
So I think we can all agree that we should be talking to anyone and everyone around us. After all, you never know who might be interested or who they might know that what would be. So how can you successfully approach your customer?
My number 1 tip for successfully approaching your customer is this: Forget about your product and business. Yep, drop it off at the curb and take the build a relationship approach first. Why is this important? Your customer wants to feel like you have their best interests at heart and if you shoot out the gate guns blazing about your opportunity then that can be a major turn off. Of course you and I both know that you have their best interests in mind, after all, your product will help improve their life and you want to share it with them! But what you have to do is convince them of that.
Convincing someone you've never met before that they should trust you can be difficult but once you get the hang of building the relationship, it will come second nature. Everyone likes a compliment so why not start there? Find something they may be wearing, their haircut or even their smile and let them know what you like about it. See something you might have in common like kids, food or a wedding band and strike up a conversation with them about it.
As crazy as it may sound, when you forget about your product, your business and your opportunity, it will feel and more importantly come out more natural when you do get the chance to talk to them about it. Keep in mind, you want to find a solution to their potential problem. Once you find out what that is, you can swoop in and save the day by offering them a chance to try what you have to offer.
Never suppress your excitement but learn to use it to your advantage and your business will grow like never before! I hope you found this helpful and if so, don’t forget to share and leave a comment below! Follow me on social media for more fun 🙂 See you soon!
